For: Autistic girls & non‑binary teens aged 13–18 Contract: Freelance, sessional
About the Groups
- 10–15 young people
- Runs every two weeks, 1.5 hours
- Mix of crafts, creative activities, gentle discussion
- Use of AGN’s custom‑made resources to explore identity, strengths, masking, wellbeing etc
Role Responsibilities
- Facilitate calm, neuro‑affirming, trauma‑informed sessions
- Create a safe, validating space for autistic teens
- Support young people to share experiences and worries
- Work collaboratively with AGN’s programme team
- Follow safeguarding and reporting processes
Setting Up the Group
- Find a suitable, accessible venue locally
- Source volunteers with support from the Volunteer Coordinator (e.g., via local Facebook groups/community pages)
- Ensure at least one volunteer attends each session with you
- Work with AGN’s Volunteer Coordinator, who provides:
- Training – safeguarding, GDPR, Data Protection, Health & Safety
- PVG check
- Collection of two references
- Full onboarding and support for you and your volunteers

- Autistic women strongly encouraged to apply
- Anyone with lived experience or strong understanding of neurodivergence
- Warm, steady, reliable, trauma‑informed individuals
- The desire to create a space where our young people can truly be themselves, where they can feel safe, truly seen and properly heard.
Lived experience is especially valuable — it helps create trust and a genuinely safe space for young people.
