Addressing the Intertwined Health Needs of Autistic and ADHD Adults

A Critical New Resource for GPs & Other Medical Professionals

We are thrilled to share an absolutely vital new resource by All Brains Belong VT that has the potential to significantly improve the physical health outcomes for our community. The utistic Girls Network has long advocated for the needs of autistic girls and women, and we know that these issues don’t vanish upon reaching adulthood. In fact, many complex health problems only become more pronounced.

A free, evidence-based clinician guide has been developed – and peer-reviewed by primary care physicians – specifically to help GPs and healthcare professionals better serve their autistic and ADHD patients.

Autistic and ADHD adults often have a commonly co-occurring constellation of intertwined neuroimmune conditions. The constraints of the healthcare system often make it challenging to address these conditions, resulting in reduced lifespan and quality of life for these patients. This free clinician guide was developed using the best available evidence based resources along with anecdotal lived experience recommendations that have been peer-reviewed by primary care physicians. Our hope is that resources on this website can make things easier for patients and clinicians to communicate, identify, and work through these patterns together.

The Solution: Bridging the Gap

This free clinician guide was designed to be a practical tool, developed using the best available evidence combined with crucial anecdotal recommendations drawn from lived experience.

Our hope is that the resources on this website will achieve two key things:

  1. Make Communication Easier: Provide patients and clinicians with a shared framework and vocabulary to discuss these complex patterns.
  2. Enable Better Identification and Treatment: Equip primary care physicians with the information needed to quickly identify and work through these common, yet often undiagnosed, health patterns together with their neurodivergent patients.

This is a powerful step toward ensuring that the physical health of autistic and ADHD adults is validated, understood, and proactively managed. Please share this crucial link with any GPs, clinicians, or health professionals you know:
