Description

This workshop focuses on the challenges autistic young people face with both major life changes and daily transitions. We explore how uncertainty can create anxiety and offer practical strategies to ease transitions, such as structured routines, advance warnings, and visual aids. Parents will learn how to support their child by preparing in advance, reducing pressure, and maintaining consistency. Key topics include understanding meltdowns and shutdowns, improving executive functioning, and working with schools for smoother transitions. By recognising individual needs and providing reassurance, parents can help their child navigate changes with greater confidence.
