A Whole School Approach to Neurodiversity (Secondary)
Transforming School Communities Through Understanding
Why Neurodiversity Matters
Every brain is unique. Just as we celebrate diversity in our physical attributes, talents, and backgrounds, we must embrace the natural variation in how our brains work. Neurodiversity isn’t about ‘fixing’ differences – it’s about understanding and adapting our environments to work for everyone.
A New Approach to Neurodivergent Support
Traditional approaches have often focused on making neurodivergent individuals ‘fit in’ through interventions. Our training transforms this perspective by helping neurotypical staff and students understand and accommodate different ways of thinking, perceiving, and communicating.
This shift recognises that the challenges faced by neurodivergent people often stem from environments, expectations and communication styles designed for neurotypical minds – not from inherent deficits.
Understanding the Double Empathy Problem
Research shows that communication difficulties between neurotypical and neurodivergent people go both ways. Just as neurotypical people might find it hard to understand neurodivergent communication styles, neurodivergent individuals face similar challenges understanding neurotypical perspectives. Our training bridges this gap, fostering mutual understanding and genuine connection.

Our virtual live webinar can be arranged at a time to suit the school, such as a Twilight session. This programme is aimed at the whole school, so ideally all staff will take part in the training or it will be cascaded out to them, and all pupils will learn about neurodiversity and how to accommodate and communicate with their neurodivergent peers in the assembly. Ideally, parents would be invited to the assembly and will be informed about what the pupils have learnt.
Investment for live virtual staff training, assembly materials for KS1 & KS2, teacher guide, parent guide & pupil handout for KS1 & KS2:
£500(No VAT Added) for up to 40 staff, please contact us for a price for higher numbers of attendees.
We are UK-based so training will take place in UK time – we can accommodate UK evening training, but if you’re in Australia or New Zealand it will need to be an early start.
