2 hours in total

PRICE: £400 (no VAT)

Training is virtual

Presented by Autistic Girls Network

This virtual training is designed to equip school staff with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to meet and exceed the new expectations of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) taking effect in November 2025. We will focus on how to embed a neuro-affirmative and inclusive culture that not only satisfies inspectors but, more importantly, genuinely supports every learner.

What This Training Will Cover

This training will give you the knowledge and practical strategies you need to support every learner, especially our neurodivergent students, and align with the new Ofsted framework.

Key Points We’ll Cover:

  • Understanding the New Ofsted Framework: We will break down the key changes in the November 2025 Education Inspection Framework, focusing on the new “Inclusion” evaluation area and what it means for your school.

  • Neuro-Affirming Practices: We will explore practical strategies for creating a truly inclusive culture. We’ll show you how to reframe distressed behaviours as communication, celebrate authenticity in your students, and create a classroom where everyone belongs.

  • The Power of Co-Regulation: We will teach you how to use your own calm presence as a tool. You’ll learn simple techniques to help a dysregulated student find a sense of safety and calm, which is crucial for learning.

  • Actionable Steps: We will finish with clear, actionable steps for how to embed these practices into your daily work. We will show you how to demonstrate this work to inspectors and, most importantly, to your students.

Part 1: The New Ofsted Landscape

Objective: To understand the key changes in the EIF and how they directly impact neurodiversity and inclusion.

  • Goodbye, Single Word Judgments: The EIF is moving away from a single, high-stakes grade and toward a more nuanced, five-point report card. This shift reduces pressure and allows schools to demonstrate excellence in specific areas.

  • The New “Inclusion” Evaluation Area: This is a major change. Inspectors will now explicitly evaluate how well a school supports all learners, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, those with SEND, and those with neurodivergent profiles.

  • Context and Compassion: The new framework promises to take a school’s unique context into account. This means inspectors will look for evidence that you are supporting your community’s specific needs rather than judging you against a universal standard.

  • Focus on Staff Well-being: The EIF now explicitly considers how schools support staff well-being and workload. We will explore how a neuro-affirmative approach can reduce teacher stress by reframing difficult behaviors and building stronger relationships.

Part 2: Neuro-Affirming Practices in Action

Objective: To provide practical, neuro-affirmative strategies that align with the new framework’s focus on well-being, attitudes, and personal development.

  • Behavior as Communication: We will explore how to reframe challenging behaviors as a form of communication. This approach is key to meeting the EIF’s expectations for a positive and supportive school environment.

  • Co-Regulation: Your New Superpower: We will teach practical techniques for co-regulation, showing staff how to use their own calm presence to de-escalate situations and help a learner’s nervous system feel safe. This directly supports the new framework’s focus on pupil well-being and personal development.

  • Celebrating Authenticity: We will share strategies for creating a culture where neurodivergent traits, such as stimming and special interests, are celebrated, not suppressed. This directly demonstrates a commitment to inclusion and a positive environment for all learners.

Part 3: From Inspection to Integration

Objective: To offer actionable steps for embedding these practices into your school’s culture.

  • Evidence for Ofsted: We will discuss how to gather and present evidence of your inclusive practices, demonstrating that your approach to neurodiversity is embedded throughout the school, from leadership to the classroom.

  • A Shared Language: We will provide key terms and concepts that help staff communicate about neurodiversity and inclusion with confidence and clarity, ensuring a consistent approach across all teams.

  • The Haven as a Partner: We will outline how the Autistic Girls Network can continue to support your school on its journey toward neuro-affirmative practice, offering ongoing resources and training to help you not just meet, but exceed the new standards of the Ofsted framework.
