The Autistic Girls Network Group on a Friday  night at Kendall Drive has been an amazing life line for my 12 year old. She has suffered what they think is a massive Autistic burnout amongst other things and is currently no longer able to go to school. The group has allowed her to make friends with people she feels she can be herself around, even if she currently doesn’t know what that means herself yet. I truly think the  improvements we are starting to see in her are in no small part to the connections she has made as part of the group. She has gone from needing to just be in the quiet room with sensory toys, melting down, to now being able to sit and talk and laugh for periods of time with her new friends. It has also been nice for me to connect with a couple of Mums through it, at a time I really needed it.
